The Second Season of “The Nate Berkus Show” Folds the Show

The Nate Berkus Show Share

The show of Oprah Winfrey’s favorite interior designer “The Nate Berkus Show” will fold at the end of its second season. The remaining episodes of the current season will still air the decorating centered show. The syndicated talk show hosted by designer Nate Berkus was first aired on September 13 last year. However, it does not caught good ratings in the long run. In order to concentrate on her own Network, Winfrey, a champion of Berkus left the airwaves during the current year but an individual close to the Berkus show told that it will not be following Winfrey to own.

Sony pictures together with Harpo Studios released a joint statement announcing that they have already come up with the decision that “The Nate Berkus Show” will not come back for its third season anymore. However, they mentioned that they are grateful about the hard work and dedication that Nate, Corin Nelson along with their whole team has contributed for the program. In addition, they also mentioned that they are very proud about the project. Broadcasting and Cable first delivered that report.

Harpo Productions along with Sony Pictures television produced the Nate Berkus Show. It was taped in HD video at CBS studios in New York. After Sony and NBC Universal come into an agreement to launch the show on all 10 NBC owned and operated stations along with Harpo Productions, Sony distributed the show. Following the cancellation of The Bonnie Hunt Show that was renewed for the 2010-2011 season, the first episode of the show was put on air. A lot of NBC stations particularly NBC owned and operated stations come across with difficulties in finding daytime programming as a result.

Because of not so good ratings of Bonnie Hunt’s Show, Broadcasting and Cable announced that NBC syndicated programming for daytime aside from The Ellen DeGeneres Show have been out of the daytime schedule. It was disclosed last August 2010 that the first guest of the show is Dolly Parton. During the first episodes of the show, it reached the highest rating for a daytime talk show. However, it fails to maintain that rating in the long run. Probably because of poor rating, the show will no longer stay on air at the end of its present season.

Nathan Jay Berkus most commonly known as Nate is the primary host of the show. He is an American interior designer as well. He has been a regular guest on the Oprah Winfrey Show and presenting up to date designs to the subscribers for he runs his Chicago interior design company, Nate Berkus Associates.

Berkus published his book entitled Home Rules: Transform the Place You Live into a Place You’ll Love in November 2005. In the same year, he started selling his products at Linens ‘n Things stores all over North America. He was the host of Oprah’s Big Give that is a short Lived reality show debuted last March 02, 2008. However, the show ended up on April 20 of the same year. He is the executive producer of the 2011 movie “The Help”.
