Steven Jobs, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Apple, showed a presentation of the donut-shaped building as the new headquarters of the company.
After the CEO gave his important message at the Worldwide Developer Conference of the company, he left the story behind him and went to a somewhat smaller size of audience, one of the Cupertino Council. At the conference he showed the plans of Apple for their latest headquarters, and to say they were ambitious with the company’s plan.
The company, who has currently acquired 150 acres of land down at the road from their present One Infinite Loop Headquarter, wants to construct a single building to accommodate all of the company’s 12,000 local employees. In addition, the new building, a large ring featuring, naturally, plate glass outer walls will sit on a top of a mammoth underground car park in order to boost the grassed areas on the property to almost 80 percent, with some 6,000 trees.
Jobs also said that the building will be approximately half the size of the Pentagon and it will look like a spaceship that has landed. The CEO was definitely well got at the Council conference, being the largest taxpayer tax payer Cupertino, and was swift to message his roost in the place, having attended at the Cupertino Middle School.
Jobs made it obvious that the company were eager to remain in the place, even unpromisingly suggesting that if the building was bit given the go-ahead they may have to transfer to Mountain View, home of arch-nemesis Google.
Furthermore, one councilor asked if the company can offer municipal Wi-Fi for the area of Cupertino, a request that the CEO precisely avoided. If the plans of Apple get the go signal, which looks more than possible, the company plans to break the ground on the project by 2012, and be transferred in by 2015.
