Finally, the very much awaited by many has come to an end. The Miss USA 2010 was won by crowd favorite, Miss Michigan Rima Fakih. She is now the title holder of a very prestigious crown of the said pageant.
Miss Michigan was crowned by none other than Miss USA 2009 winner Kristen Dalton. On Sunday night, May 16, 2010, Miss USA 2009 Kristen Dalton passed the crown to Miss Michigan, who will soon travel around the globe and help out those less fortunate people for the whole year.
Out of 51 contestants, they are only narrowed down to 15 and then five, afterwards. These lucky contestants who completed the final five were Miss Michigan, Miss Virginia, Miss Maine, Miss Colorado, and Miss Oklahoma.
According to Miss Michigan’s biography, Rima is known as philanthropically minded and academically inspired young lady. For her, it is a childhood dream to compete and win the title of Miss Michigan USA, which was fortunately given to her on September 19, 2009 by winning the title. Through this title, she was given the chance to pursue her studies on higher education, and positively influence people to become an advocate to community service, charity works and educational growth.
Rima went to the University of Michigan-Dearborn where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a minor of Business Administration. During her college years, she served as a volunteer social worker to different community organizations.
Now, after earning a higher title, which is the Miss USA 2010, Miss Michigan Rima Fakih will be more dedicated in helping less fortunate people in different parts of the world.
Lastly, it’s about time someone who deserves to win actually wins. Now let’s hope she doesn’t end up in the middle of controversy like other former Miss USA competitors.
