The Anxiety Disorders Association of America stated lysine, arginine, passion flower and kava can be an effective treatment for anxiety disorder.
Furthermore, the association also said that the word anxiety disorder consists of social anxiety disorder, phobias, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder and comprehensive anxiety disorder.
Even though these disorders are well curable, only on one-third of individuals who are suffering from anxiety disorder look for medications. Moreover, the latest systematic review was performed by Karen Vieira and Shaheen Lakhan from the Global Neuroscience Initiative foundation (GNIF).
GNIF is a non-profit group that promotes the development of mental and neurological health. The researchers studied 24 reviews that involved over 2,000 participants who used dietary supplements and herbal medicines for anxiety. The review also stated that lysine, arginine, passion flower and kava can be effective medications.
Twenty one of the researches were randomized controlled tests, and of these, 15 disclosed positive findings from either nutritional or herbal remedy, with mild to modest side effects. In addition, Lakhan distinguished that while L-arginine, L-lysine, kava and or passion flower seemed to be helpful, St. John’s magnesium and wort supplements were not.
Furthermore, the researchers also indicate, however, that more study needs to be performed to create the most useful dose and to establish whether this differs between various kinds of anxiety or anxiety-related disorders.
Moreover, in a new study done by researchers from Louisiana State University Health Science Center reported that only kava has a premium proof for use in the medication of anxiety disorders, even though they also said that its use is dampened because of safety matters. On the other hand, use of kava is also been connected with liver problems.
