Another Touchscreen Technology: ASUS Eee Pad

In 1974, the start of “touch sensor technology” was developed by Doctor Sam Hurst, the founder of Elographics, when he was teaching at the University of Kentucky. Since then, Elographics has been very eager to perfect and finding new ways on how this particular technology will be applicable and useful in the human’s daily living. And on February 24, 1994, the company officially changed its name from Elographics to Elo TouchSystems.

And nowadays, this has been one of the latest trends in technology. Starting from appliances to Computers to handy mobile phones, touch screen technology has been applied. Some of the leading computer manufacturer took advantage this touch screen technology such as the iPad of Apple and the WePad of Germany.

And recently, Asus has announced that they will be releasing their very own touch screen product, and that is the ASUS Eee Pad. ASUS Eee Pad is more convenient to carry tablet computer designed and marked by Asus. According to their announcement, Asus EEE Pad will be released this will be available after the first quarter of 2011.

ASUS has undeniably the capacity to provide good service and awe their consumers at the same time.  ASUS Eee Pad is equipped with Intel’s Core 2 Duo CULV processors, Windows 7, and a battery that will last 10 hours.  Probably, the reason why ASUS is touting a “hybrid” keyboard is to provide a more tangible feedback to your typing. A webcam is also included and a USB port. And as of today, a 10-inch EP101TC was announced, though its specifications were less detailed and according to them, it its set to run under Windows Ebedded Compact 7.

Moreover, ASUS proclaimed that they will be giving Eee Pad under the price range of $399 to $499, so don’t stop drooling on your shirt because of this precious gadget. They have also added that Eee Pad won’t be out until the first quarter of 2011.
