Lakers Beat Sacramento Kings with OT Victory

LA Lakers won Wednesday night against the Sacramento Kings, ending the game with 116-108 overtime victory and earning the No.2 seed in the Western Conference playoffs.

UCLA’s Malcolm Lee to Enter NBA Draft

Malcolm Lee of UCLA announced Tuesday that he will join this year’s NBA Draft with an agent, Bruins coach Ben Howland.

The 20-year old right-handed shooting guard previously announced his interest to join NBA Draft without an agent, thus preserving his NCAA eligibility. On the contrary, Lee has decided to hire an agent and withdraw from his classes.

According to reports, Lee has already spoken with his family about the matter to help him weigh all possible options. In a statement, he said that he was happy that his family supports him to his dream of becoming an NBA player. He added that now is the perfect time for him to try it and make it a reality.

The six-foot-five UCLA guard averaged 13.1 points for the Bruins last season and is considered as one of the top perimeter defenders in the nation. He also received the Bruin Hoopsters J.D. Morgan Memorial Award (Outstanding Team Play) and the Irv Pohlmeyer Memorial Award (Outstanding Defensive Player) at the team’s annual post-season banquet. 100-77 Victory for Miami Heat against Celtics

Miami desperately beat Boston Celtics Sunday, ending the game with a surprising victory of 100-77 and earning a one-game lead for the second seed.

The Heat has been dealing with the Celtics since October last year when their opening night turned out to be a defeat with Boston, which has contributed to their getting off to a slow start that they have been trying to work out for months now.

James scored 27 points and four steals, which helped the Heat gets their transition game going. Wade, on the other hand, shot four out of 12, racing back at one time to block what looked like a Ray Allen breakaway layup.

The intensity of the game played by the first two was matched by other Heat players such as Joel Anthony who was better than any other Boston center and Mario Chalmers who stunningly outplayed Rajon Rondo. Chalmers who had nine points said in an interview after the game that they have been longing for this win, adding that they have reached a point where there is no return.

Denver Nuggets Beats Lakers at Staples

Denver Nuggets won against the Los Angeles Lakers in the score of 95-90 on the home court of the Lakers.

The Lakers was shocked after they lose against the Denver Nuggets in the score of 95-90. The worst part is that the Lakers lost on their own home court. These two teams are the hottest teams on NBA this season and they met early on Sunday.

Los Angeles started out 6 for 21 and Nuggets made 5 for 17. Kobe Bryant only made 10 out of his 27 shots on the day in route to 28 points. Kobe missed a very vital shot after his shot bounced off the side of the rim. It was a terrible shot because it was a big chance to get the Lakers within one score late in the fourth quarter of the game.

The game was initially ruled by the Lakers but later on with the game, the balanced attack of Nuggets took over. Orlando Magic Wins over LA CLippers

The Los Angeles Clippers (5-20) prepared for a comeback but lost to Orlando Magic (16-8) Sunday night at Staples Center with 94-85.

Clippers Coach Vinny Del Negro said that the game went almost okay, but it was not the result the team was looking for. The rest of the game, the Clippers clawed and climbed. However, they do not have enough time to reach the top, marking their eighth consecutive loss to Orlando.

The 21-year old shooting guard Eric Gordon scored a game-high of 28 points on nine-for-23 shooting and had eight assists. During the first quarter, the Orlando made 16 of 25 shots compared to the Clippers with five-for-21 start. Gordon somehow found his shooting touch in the third quarter by making four of five shots that help draw the Clippers to within ten entering the fourth.

Orlando, on the other hand, snapped a four-game skid by shooting 36 for 75 compared to the Clippers’ 32 for 84. The 25-year old center Dwight Howard scored 22 points and eight rebounds. During the game, he missed five of his next free-throw shots but the Clippers cannot capitalize, missing three shots and committing two turnovers before the Orlando got back to ten.

The 21-year old power forward Blake Griffin of LA Clippers finished with 27 points and 16 rebounds and went with a strong matchup with Howard. He said that they may have won the game if only they had not been down 20. Gordon, on the other hand, said that he was proud of his team for not quitting especially when their deficit touched 26 in the second quarter.
