Golf powerhouse Tiger Woods is back on track at the Masters, as the thundering roar all over Augusta National acknowledged his presence.
These past few years, the former world number one had gone through a series of problems with regards to his personal life alongside his golf game, but as part of the Masters, he never lose his touch in the thing that he is best at doing.
Following an impressive opening round of 71 on Thursday, Woods made his way through the Masters on Friday. In the event, he made a six-under-par 66, making way for him to make it to the middle stage at seven-under-par.
As a result, he gained the third spot, sharing it with K.J. Choi of South Korea, three strokes behind Rory McIlroy of Northern Ireland and a notch behind Jason Day of Australia. In an interview, Woods said that he had played his way to make it back in the tournament. He said that as the tournament progresses it will going to be exciting.
Since 2008, Woods never won major nor different tournaments, but his name as one of the prevailing players in the leaderboard gave the tournament a boost it needed. In the past, Woods had won four titles in the Masters and other top five recognitions, so the things he can do for the Augusta will come naturally.
In another interview he said that his complete wish is to climb his way up to the nine holes. He added that it was the thing they have always done. He had been always successful in that approach so he will stick to it this time.
On Friday, Woods’ performance was surprising, even if it is by his own standards. He shot nine birdies that include seven coming from the eighth hole. Also, his 66 was only a shot off his lowest round at Augusta,

Phil Mickelson won his first victory since last year’s Masters after winning the Houston Open in Humble, Texas.
Mickelson defeated Scott Verplank on Sunday and gained his first victory since last year’s Masters. The victory of Mickelson helped him move on the world ranking to number 3 and Tiger Woods who did not play on the tournament dropped to number 7 in the world rankings.
Reports said that this is the first time that Mickelson has been ahead of Tiger Woods in the world rankings since Woods won the 1997 Masters.
Mickelson made a seven-under-par 65 shot in the final round of the game finishing at 20-under 268. He was three strokes ahead of Chris Kirk (67) and Verplank (68). According to Phil Mickelson, he is hoping that he can remake some history at the Masters this week. Actually, he is the last player to win the week even before a Masters victory. He captured the BellSouth Classic in 2006 before he earned his second green jacket. The Houston Open has become the run-up event to Augusta in the year 2007.
The victory of Mickelson has an emotional tug for him. Since 2009, Dr Tom Buchholz, a radiation oncologist at the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, has been treating the Amy, Mickelson’s wife, and his mother, Mary, for breast cancer. Buchholz and about 30 of his staffs were present in the gallery the whole weekend. Mickelson gave the flag from the 18th hole to Buchholz after his round.

Golf superstar Phil Mickelson has revealed that he was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis and is much bothered by his condition that his career.
He revealed his health condition on Tuesday with his media session at the final season of the PGA Championship. He is suffering from psoriatic arthritis that triggers his immune system to penetrate his joints as well as tendons, which is very painful that he cannot even walk. Mickelson started to feel the first indication few days before the U.S Open that really forced him to seek for medication at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota.
He was recommended for weekly shots to manage the pain caused by the ailment, and fortunately, he stated that he haven’t experienced any undesirable effect on his short or perhaps long-term wellness.

As he came up late, in the championship game on that morning, he just said that he let the round of the game mature and that he knows that the players must be early. As he also said that keep hanging will keep the round good for that day. Though he has a good playing throughout that day there is an error where he missed a putt for par at 18, though it could be avoided because he missed it. His striking ball made his day great. He follows his leader on the first round, four shots because he is under six holes. He was happily said that he had a very good play and the ball only comes faster because he was using his Nike putter for 11 years and said it worked well. He is a great player of all time in golf, and in this day as he described it was pretty good day though he got going late on the first round of the game.
After his game Woods ask a question on what is his reaction where Robson call him in the microphone where there are only pleasant crowd that cheers to his post-scandal.

After two-spoke penalty given to Yuko Mitsuka due to her less than speedy play on the golf course, she banned herself from playing for 11 upcoming tournaments. Last Tuesday while playing in the World Ladies Championship, she was penalized two stokes for her slow play. Mitsuka only responded by dropping her clubs and angrily walk off the course. She quit midway through the first round of the World Ladies Championship last week as her way of protest.
As the result of the young golfer’s action, the 25-year-old was fined a record of two million yen, which is equivalent to 21,590 US dollars, then surprisingly volunteered to withdraw from eight domestic and three overseas events as a sign of contrition.
“This is the biggest fine in Japanese Ladies Professional Golfers Association history and reflects the seriousness of what took place,” the Tour’s Hideaki Otani told Reuters yesterday.
“The player offered to withdraw from those tournaments and the Tour accepted that as the right punishment.”
Yuko Mitsuka should be thankful because she only got this as her punishment. Mitsuka could have faced far more severe punishment as the JLPGA in 2006 suspended a player for 10 years for falsifying her score card.
According to JLPGA chief Hisako Higuchi after imposing the fine, “It will have a serious impact on her to miss these tournaments.”
Chief Higuchi also added, “Let this be a lesson to other golfers. She has to take responsibility for her actions.”
After the walking out scenario of Yuko Mitsuka, the tournament proceeded. It was Morgan Pressel who victoriously won the cup. She is an American professional golfer currently playing on the LGPA Tour. She is the youngest-ever winner of an LPGA major tournament, and has reached number four in the Women’s World Golf Rankings.
