The Sun issued the first book of Prince William and Kate Middleton in Britain on Friday ten days after the announcement of the royal engagement.
The book was entitled William and Kate: A Royal Love Story is the first in a slew of new titles about the relationship of Prince William and Kate that publishers hope will increase sale in months before their royal wedding on April 29 at Westminster Abbey.
In addition, the book was issued by The Sun and Harper Collins, both owned by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. It is one of many books regarding about royal romance in the works. They also incorporate one by Andrew Morton, a celebrity journalist whose Diana: Her True Story book in 1992 shocked the royal family and pierced the image of fairy tale romance of Prince Charles and Princess Diana with its information of unfaithfulness, despair and bulimia.
The William and Kate: A Royal Love Story, due to be issued in the United States on December 17, is a more respectful affair. It graphs the romance between the boy who will one day be a king and a girl in the middle-class society who had havened a crush on the boy since her school days.
Moreover, the book trails the best love story of the century from the first acquaintance of the couple at a university in Scotland. It says that Prince William’s pet name for Kate was Babykins, while Kate called the prince Big Willie.
Furthermore, publication comes simply ten days after the November 16 announcement of their engagement, and the beginning of the beneficial book-purchasing on Christmas season. James Clench, the royal reporter of The Sun newspaper, had written most of the text beforehand and made the final 4,000 words within 48 hours.
