Because he does not want their relationship to fail, he will ask for tips from an unusual relationship coach. Jeong played the character of the offbeat coach. As a philanthropist, he is active in participating good deeds including H2O Africa Foundation, ONE Campaign together with Water.org. He was the founder of H2O foundation which is a charitable group that soon merged with WaterPartners to form Water.org in 2009. Some other Hollywood stars who accompanied Damon for his advocacy are George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Jerry Weintraub and Don Cheadle.

Going back to his producing career, Damon along with his friend Ben Affleck and producers Chris Moore and Stanley Bailey founded a production firm LivePlanet. The group created the project Greenlight that is a documentary series to search and fund promising amateur filmmakers. In 2002, 2004 and 2005, their Project Greenlight was a nominee for the Emmy Awards for outstanding Reality Program category.
